Happy New Year!

2011 has been a great year, even if everybody got busier, with Daddy and his ever-increasing workload, Mama and her 'stuff', and Kecil with Skool and all.

We wish you all a great new year, this coming 2012, on this last day of 2011. Right on top of the list, this Mama hopes to clear Mama's backlog of pics and stories ASAP, learn even more stuff, have more fun, basically having a blast in 2012. I am very sure we all share similar hopes for the coming new year.

So... cheers, have a toast, have a blast!

Missing...

We had been missing from this space.

Indeed, we are currently on our BIG holiday, visiting the people who are our main audience in this blog, the Family. It's an epic holiday, with surely tons of pictures, stories, hilarious giggles and laughter, with family, with new and old friends, new places, new gadgets, old haunts ....
Epic.

I suppose it will be a while until we get down from all the whirlwind (which is still going on as Christmas and New Year comes along). But we'll try our best to drop in, and even work on that backlog on the Skool's Christmas party. Eeks!

And just in case we don't get to see you again until next year, here's to a great holiday to each and everyone of you!

Get well soon, Oma!

Kecil's Oma just went through a major surgery yesterday. Having not been present in person for the whole series of events, all we know had come from the intermittent updates from overseas, through emails and various chats.
We did, however, hear that Oma had come through the surgery quite well, and is in the process of recovery.

Between work, school and sheer physical distance, it's not always the easiest thing to drop everything in order to get at Oma's side for this major occurrence, however, we do hope to be able to visit soon.
In the mean time, our prayers are for Oma, for quick recovery, for days ahead.

Happy Halloween!

With all of us at home this year, we did manage to get into the Halloween spirit.
T'was not a very successful year, but it was quite fun.
Perhaps we'll do better next year.
In the meantime, Mama is still trying to get everything ready for the Halloween post, so... just be patient. Take care and don't eat too much candy!

This Mama wonders if perhaps the photo summarizes her feelings 3 years back.
She knew that Kecil was going to be a girl, a pretty healthy one too, from the look of it, but that was really all.
There was no knowing of how the Girl was going to look like, if she would have an easy-going nature, if she was going to inherit any of her parents' quirks, if anything!

Throughout these 3 years, we have found out so many things about this little Girl of ours,
That she has a beautiful, deep dimple that she's just discovering (and got fascinated with)
That she has a loud voice that is always a ready weapon, especially when she's feeling cranky
That she is cheerful, and friendly, and very much attached to her Mama,
That she loves to run and jump and explore and shout and climb all over Daddy
That she is not just exactly what we hope for, but also so much much more....

There are many more years ahead for us to get to know this Little Girl even better
But in the meantime, this Mama will grab this moment to be grateful,
For a lovely, beautiful, tiring, rewarding, roller coaster-y 3 year
With our very own Little Girl ...

Happy Teacher's Day!

It's Teacher's Day in Singapore today, and Mama's Facebook wall is full with Teacher-Love.
With Kecil in Skool now, we just thought of joining the fun as well.

Kecil's Teachers' efforts have definitely filled up the house with all kind of 'decoration', not to mention their biggest handiwork, a happy Kid who is definitely learning and benefiting from their guidance.

*psssttt... actually those are photos of the old Skool works, if you notice. But somehow Mama found them to be more cheerful (and therefore, more appropriate) than the current one. As for current Skool works:

We'll continue to put effort in tracking Kecil's progress in Skool, although most definitely Kecil's success is school in general is as much Kecil's, her teachers' and her Mama's effort combined rather than just any individual part.
So... good luck to all of us, and once again, to all the teachers out there,

Happy Father's Day

Another late greetings.. but heartfelt, nevertheless.
To all the Father's in our lives.... Happy Father's day.
We love you.

Happy Mother's Day

 

This Mama still remembers well her first Mother's Day, with a bulging tummy (5 months then), a stalk of carnation and a special blessing during mass.
That was 3 years ago, and the little thing inside the tummy has grown to this lovely Little Girl that I see everyday.

Just want to wish all mothers out there a Happy Mother's Day.

Easter Sunday ...

... was a day for pretty, flowery dresses, cotton candy, and outdoor festivities...

Amidst all the new stuff, the confusion... I think Kecil still managed to enjoy herself, eventually.
It was just too bad that she missed out on the egg hunt.
Not to be deterred, though, since GrandMama and Mama had already arranged for her own private hunt at the backyard: Gram colored the eggs, and Mama hid them.

With some help from GramM, we managed to recover all FOUR eggs.
Not too bad for Kecil's very first egg hunt.
Especially if you can count that huge yellow one right at the end as a bonus one.

T'was a huge egg, no?

And so... despite it being late by four days.... wish you all a Good Easter!

Has it really been 100 posts? After oh so long (this is the 4th calendar year, according to the archives)...

And in the mean time, THAT baby, has grown into THIS kiddo:

Who can already run, jump, talk, spout arguments, say Please, make logical demands...

This Mama is still learning, is still exploring.
Thank you for coming along. I hope you do enjoy the ride, together with the Little One.
Do expect more 'memory lane' kind of posts as we look back into the in between that happens between the two photos above.

In the spirit of properly acknowledging contribution, this Mama will start from this post onward to attribute images not taken by the official photographer. The first image was by Eyang Kakung, I believe. Mama back then was still resting from uhmm... all the efforts of bringing Kecil into the world.

Because friendship too, is a special kind of love....

Thinking of all our loved ones today, and moments that make them so special...

Wishing you a very happy, prosperous new year!
Remember, make lots of noise to scare all the monster and ghost away (a task Kecil is very happy to do),
do your clean up BEFORE, not on new year's day itself (they say it will sweep away your good luck),
and eat all the good, meaningful stuff (noodle: for longevity, sweet stuff: for sweetness in life, orange: for prosperity, etc)
